FQX/F container/flat wagon
|
The FQX class was VR's primary container wagon for many years. They were most often seen on interstate freights but also were used in intrastate traffic. The numbers started at 501 because S.A.R. had similar wagons that numbered up to 500. Most FQX's were built without lashing rails, I am unsure if any later group were built with lashing rails but many (most?) were retrofitted with lashing rails in the 1970's. When lashing rails were fitted the number board was lowered and hung under the floor level. |
