The Lilydale goods shunts at Cave Hill as a down Lilydale bound Harris flies past. In electric staff days Cave Hill had an intermediate instrument, located in the green hut, that allowed the goods to "lock away" whilst it did its shunting. Cave Hill originated cement traffic and was approx one mile on the Melbourne side of Lilydale.
