Flinders Street looking east 1885. The box on the left was called "Flinders Street west" Not until 1890 was the viaduct between Spencer Street and Flinders St opened at which time Flinders Street underwent massive change.The train on the right is a Port Melbourne or St Kilda train. Note the tubular point rodding. also note the disc attached to the points in the middle of the photo acting as a point indicator.
