Kilmore Junction was renamed Heathcote Junction on May 15 1922. Two interesting things on the diagram, note the "runaway track" a train approaching Kilmore Junction was at the bottom of 3 miles of 1 in 50 downhill gradient. The presence of distant signals to and from the Kilmore line is interesting in that it meant a distant at proceed would take the train on a diverging movement. This practice was quite widespread at the time but in later years this practice was virtually unheard of.
