The diagram below shows the alterations after 3 position signals were provided to Merri and the signalbox was able to be switched out, note illuminted letter A's on post's 2, 18 & 19. Suburban service on the North Fitzroy line had been withdrawn in 1948. By 1965 the signalbox was abolished and all connections from the Epping line to the North Fitzroy line were removed, the curve from Rushall to Merri is said to be the sharpest curve on the suburban system.
