A Dd crosses Spring Creek as it departs Beechworth bound for Yackandandah, circa 1905. Down trains leaving Beechworth faced 3 miles of uphill including a short section of 1 in 30 and the fireman has prepared well with a full head of steam evidenced by the safety valve blowing off.
