This diagram shows Flinders Street prior to any 3 position signals. Of particular interest is that only the first viaduct to Spencer St is in service, the 2nd viaduct was not put into service until 1915. Note the "engine roads" at the west end of the platforms for steam suburban working and also the traverser at Princes Bridge.
