VHX lourve vans

This small class appears to have been the prototype for the numerically much larger class of VSX's, in fact the VHX and VSX classes were very similar wagons, the main difference was the lack of horizontal stiffening ribs on the VHX. (In the photo above VHX 18 is coupled to a VSX and the difference is clearly seen) Unlike the VSX's the VHX's were built with brown roofs, later repaints saw a few of them get silver roofs.VHX 18 pictured above is shown with a VSX style door.
Interestingly, the VHX has a fishbelly underframe which is not shown in the diagram. |
